I was talking to a friend about various different things
& the subject of rape/molestation came up
& how a lot of young girls are raped/molested when they're little
(boys as well)
& the saddest part of the discussion was that the majority of the predators are
usually members of the family (atleast from stories we have heard between each other its usually a family member surveys & reports showed other wise as you will see further down).....buts its usually an uncle, big cousin, step father, & sometimes
even the father.
And as I sat there & thought about it I've actually had a few associates &
friends confide in me about past incidents that has happened in their life where
a relative or someone has molested & or raped them & they also expressed to me how much better they felt just by TELLING SOMEONE & getting it off of their chest......
in my opinion You have to be a sick fuck to do that to a relative
& the fact they get away with it or think they can get away with it because
they're in the family is horrible
In some cases the whole family knows of the situation & they just act like
everything is everything & nothing happened
I'm sure it sucks having to see the person that has done that to you & see your
family just smile'n & laughing it up
They should get the same treatment a stranger would get for doing such a thing
if youre not going to go to the law you can at least outcast them
Not welcome as a member of the family
I'm sure it makes the victim feel like theyre worthless to the fam when they just
let that ride.
But when I got home I decided to get on the internet & check the numbers
& I couldn't get any accurate numbers because rape & molestation varies in
different areas
Meaning 1 thing that's considered rape or molestation in cali might be different
in Ohio
The Justice Department says that 8 percent of all American women will be victims
of rape or attempted rape in their lifetime
The radical feminist legal scholar Catharine MacKinnon, however, claims that "by
conservative definition [rape] happens to almost half of all women at least once
in their lives
nation womens survey
21.6% of first or only rape cases experienced by women
happened before age 12.
32.4% of such cases happened between the ages of 12 and 17.
29.4% happened between the ages of 18 and 24.
16.6% happened at age 25 or
greater
Only 22% of rape victims were assaulted by someone they had never seen before or
did not know well.
9% of victims were raped by husbands or
ex-husbands.
11% by fathers or stepfathers.
10% by boyfriends or ex-boyfriends.
16% by other relatives.
29% percent by other non-relatives, such as friends and neighbors.
9.8% of victims reported serious physical injuries.
46.3% sustained minor
injuries.
43.9% sustained no physical injuries.
58.5% said that they were fearful
of serious injury of death
Estimated that 91% of U.S. rape victims are female and 9% are male, with 99% of
the offenders being male
A lot of victims keep these incidents to themselves due to embarrassmnet & or being scared......its no telling what kind of effects might have on them specially when they keep it bottled inside
they can develope mental problems, hatred for men & family members, become antisocial, distant, depressed, suicidal, unable to trust men, paranoid, & the list can go on & on
