MOVIE REVIEW "THE HUNGER GAMES"

First off I did not read the books so this review is coming from someone who had an idea of the concept & basically knew how things were going to go because I wiki'd it. Other than that my expectations were to be sucked into this series/franchise because of how good its delivered on film. Let me say that I am not impressed. The movie is good but definitely over hyped by the people. I initially have a problem with movies not being rated are because it takes away from the realistic feel that I WANT when I'm watching a movie. The movie had SOOOOO much potential to be great but the not being Rated R thing kills it. And they didn't give me enough to feel for anybody. Like everybody was sad because Rue died -_- why They didnt give her any real time for the audience to connect with her. It was another simple ass death.Yeah they did a good job focusing on the main character & yes there is 24 contestants & 24 different characters is way too many to try & touch a story on but you at least have to give something on half of them. I didn't feel anything for anybody that died because they had no sort of story & most of the kills weren't even shown. They did a horrible job trying to sugar coat the brutality & by that I mean they used up close, shaky fast pan shots during fights & kill scenes, so you can barely see whats going on, minimal blood, screams & cries drowned out. They also lost me with the whole 5th element drag queen look for the characters living good & also they gave the controllers of the game tooooo much control the whole making up shit to put into the game all willy nilly was annoying, they're adding trees & gorilla dogs out of nowhere. It makes you feel like whats the point if they're going to push it like that & make things ridiculous. Damn now that I started this I feel like there was nothing good about the movie lol. Unless you read the book I would not suggest going to see the movie. Like I said it had potential to be great, like the concept is awesome & the main character is a good pick for the role but it just wasnt delivered well to me. Im sure the books were better.

MIXTAPE REVIEW - YG "4HUNNID DEGREEZ"

This is my first ever downloading a project from YG. Ive downloaded songs he was featured on but never a song of just him let alone a mixtape. From singles & popular songs I've heard nothing really stuck with me but for some reason I was compelled to download this mixtape & give YG a fair chance & surprisingly I liked it. It was a total of 22 tracks & I kept 13 of them. I already knew what to expect & I got what I expected & it was just put together better than I was willing to accept previously. Good beat selection & catchy hooks. Cant beat that. He had some good features as well; He did a collab with Dom Kennedy that I really liked because I don't really listen to Dom but his verse on the song "Cali Living" is really good. If you don't mind ratchet music, love ratchet music or looking to give ratchet music a chance then you need to download this.

ALBUM REVIEW - ODD FUTURE "THE ODD FUTURE TAPE VOL.2"

I think this album is a good "Look at our growth" album because I honestly sat back to dissect the lyrics & delivery from the core rappers which is Tyler, Hodgy, Domo & Earl who made a surprise appearance on the last track Oldie. Their really developing as rappers. Better choice of words, rhyme scheme, delivery. Im most impressed with Domo Genesis. His flow has really grown on me this yr. & all the tracks that I really like on the album are tracks he's featured on. Most of the production was done by Left Brain & Tyler; they made some solid beats for the album. Far as content you should already know what to expect from them. My favorite tracks are:

I don't think everybody has come to terms with the that every person that gets a record contract has to be quote on quote talented. Record labels want MONEY, entertainers bring in money! They're looking at somebody who has looks, will have better style once they get a stylist, charisma, can dance, jump around & kind of sing over somebody who can just flat out sing & do nothing else.

That's why I hate when people try to compare people like Adele to somebody like a Lady Gaga or think because to artist are in a award category they can really be compared to each other. Like you cant be mad at a Rihanna for winning awards because she has a big fan base all because shes an entertainer. At the same time don't try & act like Rihanna is fucking with Adele on a pure singing level.

Adele doesn't do all the extras because she honestly doesn't have to, other artist have to do a lot more to make up for the lack of singing. Ciara for example. In my opinion cant sing but can dance her ass off, so she relies on that along with her style and sex appeal to sell herself.

Playing an instrument is good because its like damn you have talent & you using that is the whole performance piece of it.  Artist use what they can to remain relevant. Cassie cant sing but shes gorgeous, shaved her head & just keeps herself relevant by looking good basically. Britney Spears from what I heard isn't a great singer but what did she use to blow up? Dancing, sex appeal, her personality, it all worked out & shes an icon because of it, shes a great entertainer. You cant compare her to somebody whos going to just stand there & sing. Like when they would want to compare her to Christina. Christina tried to dance & such but thats not her deal in my opinion but singing ? She can definitely do.

Theres a reason people freak out about Beyonce because she actually does it alllllllllllllllllllllll. You couldn't compare Beyonce to a Keri Hilson ya know. People just need to learn the lanes of the entertainers, performers, the pure talents, the all in ones.

I went out to eat with my family yesterday & we went to try this new place out that I cant really remember the name of, I want to say Stakers but that might not be it. Not sure if its new but it was new to us. We get seated & then our waitress who wasn't really our waitress tells us about the ordering system which was us ordering our food through the ipad on the table, I heard something about make sure we order our drinks first, make sure we put in our table number other wise our food will never be brought to our table, just a whole bunch of list of duties that I was barely paying attention to because I quickly realized she was useless to us. And we're just sitting there like -_____- we didn't come out to eat just to do everything ourselves. It was stupid, so we got up & left.

Then today I stopped by CVS to buy a couple things & EVERYTHING was self checkout & all I see is a bunch of old people struggling to process their stuff & the once known as cashiers basically ringing everything up for them like the old days. I was like WTF did they really do that? Of course it was easy & speedy for me but for a lot of other people they don't want to ring themselves up, they want someone else to do all of that shit. And decisions like that are usually made off of customer responses & surveys. But just like the government says "The people are stupid & dont really know what they want"

I guess thats where the world is headed. Do it all yourself.

So idk if any of you have seen the Reebok commercial with Ochocinco & hes basically getting outworked by the girl but after seeing it a bazillion times it really started to bother me that they were really trying to play it like she was stronger or could go harder than Chad. So I YouTube the video hoping that the female was actually some kind of athlete & I find out she is & her name is Annie Thorisdottir but I didn't know exactly what sport. So I go to google her & I see her doing all kinds of lifting, so I'm like ohhhh shit maybe she is stronger & goes harder because shes a female body builder. But Annie isn't like yoked up & manly looking. I think shes cute & still has her womanly features. So I YouTube her & shes not a female body builder shes actually a cross fitness athlete which apparently is something big that I just never heard of. In cross fitness you're tested in 10 different things  cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength,flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy. After watching this mini documentary of Annie who is the 2011 cross fitness champion, I became really intrigued by her & cross fitness itself. Shes a freak of nature, shes a beast & I love it.

MOVIE REVIEW - JUSTICE LEAGUE: DOOM

The most recent straight to dvd release by D.C. Comics is just horrible. The story had so much potential to be great but it just didnt ever really take off. Voices sucked, the villains sucked, action sucked, the climax sucked, ending sucked. It was just an F. If you havent bought it & ended up disappointed yet dont buy it!

HAVING AN IPHONE.

Everybody knows I used to hate iphones but mainly because of the users. They were always so douchey & boastful. Everything was my iphone this my iphone that & if they werent talking about their iphone they were talking about peoples black berries. Worry about youre own damn phone or they would act like they were gods for having an iphone & apps -_- you having an iphone living at home with your mama doesnt make you better than someone with a metro living on their own. I always felt like it was kind of ridiculous. Also the fact that it was touch screen & not sold by my carrier kept me from getting one but over time I saw the times turning & it was time for me to turn with it & get me an iphone. I must say after doing so I am really really happy with my decision. I got over my bad feelings towards touch screens, its fast, it takes great pictures, the interent is much better, siri is awesome, I can tell her who to send a text to & what to say, ask where im at, get directions, google pictures I can be as lazy as I want, I can actually watch youtube videos on my phone now with no problems. With the black berry that was impossible. Out of all the phones ive had so far this is the best phone I have ever had.

MOVIE REVIEW "PROJECT X"

Surprise, surprise, this movie had so much potential to suck but yet I ended up liking it. They didnt waste any time with some bullshit build it. They got right to the point, which was their losers & want to throw a party that will boost them into popularity. A formula that has been used sooooo many times before in movies but it was never really based on how awesome the party would be. With this movie they took the party to the extreme. I actually felt like I was having fun with them as I was watching it, like you could feel the enjoyment. It had a good soundtrack, all feel good party vibes, good slow motion shots, good teenage humor that appeals to adults & even more so with young adults. If you dont mind watching a movie thats about nothing but a party then you will probably enjoy this movie.
